Batter & Spice

I had a Lamb Dupiaza and it was absolutely delicious. It was cooked traditionally with fresh ingredients which is what I prefer. I haven't had a takeaway curry of that standard for many years. My husband had donner kebab and chilli sauce which was also very tasty. We're going to try fish and chips another time. Also prompt and polite delivery.

Me and my partner both decided to finally try this place for the first time and can honestly say it was fantastic. My partner ordered a little fish and chips and I ordered a kebab and chips, there was a slight wait on the kebab meat and the server offered a free can of pop to which my partner turned it down as it wasn’t a problem but it shows the sort of people they are, absolute legends. Never had such a large portion of kebab and chips, wasn’t expecting the shear size of it! Same for my partner too, who’s little fish and chips was so big she couldn’t finish it! Tastiest I’ve had in a while and so reasonably priced too! Fantastic edition to coulby Newham and has became me and my partners new local for sure :). Keep it up!

Our first time here.. we can highly recommend. Inside the premises was spotless. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ordered a large donor and the spice box. I wasn't disappointed.. the box was sealed. The food was piping hot. Inside there was 4 cod bites, a large portion of chips, 5 pieces of tandoori chicken which was cooked to perfection. Also donor meat. I added the curry sauce which was lovely. The donor kebab was lovely and came with chips and salad. Both nan breads were warm, and were wrapped to keep the heat in. Can't wait to try the Indian menu Added.. new date 27/03/2025. Adding because I cant see anywhere were i can add another review. This is my 3rd time ordering. I have to say, this has to be the best takeaway by far. They care, and that's what I see when I order by my food. I've had the scampi meal.. £6.99 it is the best cooked scampi ive ever tasted.. juicy and cooked to perfection. The staff are lovely. The shop is clean. Well done for the best takeaway in coulby.

I like the fish and chips there. They even do vegetarian curry dishes. I had Kashmiri Dum Aloo, thats with baby potatoes in it, and I tried the Paneer Makhani Masala. They're both very nice. The staff are friendly too.

Traditional fish and chips done properly. Served with a smile. Went there for the first time tonight. Very very nice. Beautifully cooked, and a resounding 10 out of 10 from us all. I cannot wait to try the Indian menu.

First time trying this place. Food arrived on time, hot & fresh. We got the prawn korma & Paneer Makhani Massala with various sides. Was absolutely delicious

First time buying from here food was delicious spent £33 as it was highly recommended my only annoyance was the delivery driver saying he couldn't take a £5 note coz it had a slight tear in it. I got him his coins but come on. He was smiling away like he had won a trophy not good for business having him on board

3 of us get a takeaway from here every Friday night. 2 have fish & chips and they say there absolutely gorgeous not greasy & thick pieces of fish. I have had chicken tikka Masala, tandoori chicken & tandoori prawns. The masala and tandoori chicken were soooo tasty I was v impressed as we don't live locally i look forward to this weekly. The last dish I had was tandoori prawns....wish I had taken a photo of these burns offerings that were so hot they burnt my mouth that was NOT tandoori spice. I've eaten alot of indian food. 1 of the people having fish & chips had some of my chips & had a tiny bit of the spice on their chip commented before I started eating how hot that tiny speck was.... Im really disappointed I will have the other 2 indian dishes but feel I was ripped off with the prawns not only on the spice made them inedible but how many they were & the fact they were burnt !
